Code Afrique

Code Afrique works to provide African students with a window into the world of computer science, and its vast potential for development in this era of technology. Code Afrique does this by facilitating annual coding bootcamps in African cities. In the past, Code Afrique bootcamps have been held in Accra and Kumasi, Ghana and Matsapha, Eswatini and have reached over 700 students at over 40 schools. Additionally, the organization works to stay in contact with the students, their teachers, and the schools in order to ensure that there is continued support for those who would like to pursue careers in computer science. The objective is to change the narrow mentality that medical school and other well-known scientific professions are the only options for science students who graduate from high school. The program also serves as an avenue for these high school students to network with students from the continent pursuing higher education and careers in Computer Science.
