Code Animal

Code Animal is a French non-profit association dedicated to ending the exploitation of wild animals in captivity. Founded in 2001, the organization works to raise public awareness, advocate for legal change, and expose the realities faced by animals held in zoos, circuses, aquariums, and the exotic pet trade. Through investigations, educational campaigns, and policy engagement, Code Animal promotes a shift toward non-animal alternatives and supports the creation of sanctuaries. The association also monitors national and European legislation, lobbying for stronger protection measures and the end of wild animal captivity in France. Our vision: A society where wild animals are respected as sentient beings and allowed to live free in their natural habitats — not in cages.
