CodeX Vitae

CodeX Vitae ("Code of Life"), a student-led initiative at Beaconhouse College Programme, is dedicated to empowering A-level students passionate about cancer research and computational biology. We've created a comprehensive learning ecosystem where members master advanced bioinformatics skills while contributing to meaningful research projects. Our structured program, inspired by leading research institutions like Rosetta Insititute of Biomedical Research and UCLAQC Bio, combines focused lectures with hands-on workshops, where students develop expertise in analyzing complex cancer-related datasets using industry-standard tools. Members learn to navigate genomic data, interpret DNA/RNA-sequencing results, investigate cancer mutations, and explore protein-protein interaction networks. Working on real-world projects, students predict the roles of under-explored genes in cancer development, transforming theoretical knowledge into practical research skills. We're more than just a club—we're a dynamic network of future cancer researchers extending beyond the BCP community. Our mentorship-driven environment fosters both scientific understanding and professional growth, while our emphasis on research communication ensures members can effectively share their discoveries for meaningful contributions to the field.
