Coding Excellence is designed to improve the medical coding skills of all providers, to include physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses. Unfortunately, in our experience, 25-30% of providers undercode their office visits. In most urgent care or health care systems, this could cost your company hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars in lost revenue per year? Choosing the correct level of service for all patient encounters is one of the most important business aspects of your company. I am a practicing PA with over 22 years experience in the urgent care setting and over 8 years experience as a Certified Professional Coder and a Certified Evaluation and Management Coder. We work with physicians, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants to improve their coding, their understanding of the current coding guidelines, and improve their documentation.
