CoGNETs is a Horizon Europe project, empowering IoT, Edge, and Cloud with dynamic swarm intelligence for seamless and autonomous data processing.
Our objective is to develop a Middleware Framework that will empower IoT, Edge, and Cloud devices to autonomously organizing dynamic IoT-to-Cloud swarm continuums for optimal data processing and seamless service provisioning.
Our ambition is to enable continuums with no fixed (predefined) orientations as usually approached – instead, we envision a shift to an on-demand opportunistic approach targeting to “dynamic swarm continuums” including both fixed and temporal infrastructural elements (e.g. IoT/Edge devices that can join or leave the swarm on-the-fly). That way cognitive resources can be “as-locally-as-possible” organized and fully exploited for managing services and data optimally and securely in self-managed heterogeneous environments, which can include legacy enterprise networks, resource-constrained IoTs, and Edge-Cloud devices of various types of connectivity and datasets volumes.
