The Cole Harbour Hurricanes are a non-profit community recreation organization with branches in swimming and triathlon programming.
The program and atmosphere of the Cole Harbour Hurricanes are designed with the following principles:
- Support athletes in developing and achieving realistic personal goals
- Guide athletes in developing a thoughtful approach to fitness and nutrition
- Provide athletes with skills to enhance their health and fitness throughout
their lives
- Encourage athletes in developing a sense of confidence, pride, and
accomplishment in themselves
- Promote participation in community activities.
The programs are designed to include aquatic, land, nutrition, and injury prevention components for the athletes and their families in accordance with the Long-Term Athlete Development Model, facilitating the development of complete physical literacy.
