Col·lectivaT is a non-profit workers' cooperative based in Barcelona, formed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with migrant backgrounds. We offer our expertise to organizations and communities that share our principles, prioritizing the communities in the territories where we live and come from.
Our four main working areas are:
- Language Technology: We create open-access language technologies and develop technological products and services to both bridge the digital divide and strengthen the communication networks of minoritized populations.
- Linguistic Services: We translate texts and audiovisual content (including subtitling) to disseminate the knowledge of marginalized peoples and communities, sharing situated knowledge and weaving networks of solidarity.
- Social and Critical Research: We conduct social and critical research to challenge hegemonic structures of thought and analysis, both for dissemination—through publications and training—and with the aim of influencing public policy.
- Consulting: We advise and accompany organizations, local entities, cooperatives, and communities in their internal processes, such as strategic planning and communication, as this is our way of impacting the society we live in.
