OUR VALUES
We advocate for conscious consumerism and the circular economy model. Through Collectors Anonymous, we are developing a powerful network of independent businesses around Aotearoa that divert goods from landfill to give them a new life and we connect them directly with citizens who care about people and the planet when considering what goods they purchase.
We aim for sustainability in all areas of our business. We are a member of Tourism Industry Aotearoa and have signed up to their Tourism Sustainability Commitment. Our guide is printed on an environmentally responsible paper, using Third Party certified 100% Post Consumer Recycled, Process Chlorine Free (PCF) pulp from responsible sources.
We support local and only work with Aotearoa based designers, photographers and printers to lessen the environmental impact of our guides and increase work that goes to local businesses.
We create carefully crafted products, designed with longevity in mind. In keeping with the UN’s sustainability goals of responsible consumption and production, we make sure the guides are beautiful, useful books that people will want to keep and share, rather than use once and throw away.
We champion an alternative to mainstream consumerism by promoting independent retailers who work incredibly hard to source unique, beautiful, weird, wonderful, useful and unusual items for people to enjoy with a focus on vintage, secondhand, antique, pre-loved and recycled goods.
