Computational and Experimental Enzyme Engineering for New Polymers (COMENZE) is an MSCA Doctoral Network dedicated to revolutionizing the bio-based polymer industry through advanced enzyme engineering. Our mission is to develop innovative enzymatic strategies that enhance sustainable polymer design, improve end-of-life degradability, and enable chemical recyclability, thereby contributing to a circular economy aligned with the European Green Deal.
COMENZE brings together ten leading institutions as core partners and three associated partners, fostering collaboration across academia, and industry. Through this international network, we are committed to training ten Doctoral Candidates in both computational and experimental enzyme engineering.
By working across institutional and national borders, COMENZE strengthens the European bio-based industry, driving sustainable innovation and advancing the transition to a greener, circular economy.
