Comet-ME

Comet-ME is an Israeli-Palestinian NGO working since 2009 to provide essential infrastructure and services to rural Palestinian communities in the occupied Palestinian territories facing the threat of forced displacement. Our interventions are rooted in a technologically innovative and context-appropriate approach, operating at the intersection of sustainable development and human rights. Go date we serve over 11,000 people in 131 communities throughout Area C of the West Bank. We espouse a dynamic, needs-driven approach to our technological solutions, based on a continuous cycle of needs assessment, R&D, piloting, wide-scale deployment, and regular monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Functioning in the day to day as a grassroots utility company, Comet-ME’s service-oriented model emphasizes community agency, reduces reliance on aid, and supports sustainable livelihoods.
