communitas [ kuh-myoo-ni-tahs ]: Noun, from Anthropology. Usually referring to an unstructured state in which all members of a community are equal allowing them to share a common experience; also refers to the spirit or essence of “community.”
Communitas Arts & Culture (CAC) partners with individual creatives and cultural workers, arts and cultural organizations, philanthropic partners and cross-sector allies to advance social impact strategy and initiatives that work for the benefit of historically and systemically marginalized communities across the US.
We do this by providing strategic consulting services for individuals and organizations and through developing and producing new creative projects with cultural equity at their core.
We operate from a values driven perspective and an antiracist/decolonizing framework while specializing in three support service areas, including: artist services, consulting, and cultural producing.
CAC is located in Philadelphia, PA, but works nationally through an established network of professional connections, including arts//culture collaborators and colleagues across a variety of sectors and fields.
