  • Drag Arts Oral History Project
    Founder & Executive Producing Director
Drag Arts Oral History Project Jan 2021 - Present
DRAG is ART. DRAG is ACTIVISM. DRAG is COMMUNITY. Led the creation and production of a new multimedia social impact project that aims to fill significant public and professional knowledge gaps around the actual lived experiences, views, needs and histories of drag artists and queer performers in Philadelphia and around the United States. As keepers of often undocumented and suppressed queer histories and cultures, drag artists are often unsung activist and artistic heroes in the fight for queer futures and community, as well as against racism, violence, political attacks and systemic oppression of all kinds.Through this project, we aim to center QTBIPOC stories and artistry and get back down to the roots of "drag." Through the use of oral history methods we respectfully offer up narrative power, funding, cross-sector networking opportunities and creative development resources to the form's community of practitioners - all while exploring and celebrating the genre of DRAG in all its diversity through an artistic lens.#DRAGisART
