Communiti is a mobile app that brings people in a location closer together to provide and seek help and meaningful conversations from those around them. It is a product made by members of the community to serve members of the community. Communiti’s mission is to reaffirm the value of human interaction and connections, and ensure that help will always be around the corner when needed. Communiti’s vision is for people to have healthy, positive interactions with their local community and achieve collective progress through technology. Communiti wants to provide its users incentive to engage positively with those around them, by recognizing and rewarding achievements with visibility for the world to see. We want to shift the current focus of social networks from connecting people across international borders and creating connections that will soon be forgotten. We want to hit the target closer to home and focus on breaking down invisible walls associated with social stigma and the challenge of connecting you with the stranger next door. We want to connect you with the stranger next door who might urgently need to get to the hospital, but doesn’t have the means to do so, or the young working father looking for a carpool to work because he hasn’t been able to make the payments on his rental. We want to provide you with a platform to make real life connections that matter. Through Communiti, your interaction with other users won’t necessarily be limited to the virtual world and you can rest assured that the focus will be on positive and quality engagement rather than on seeing who is the most popular. Rather than building a global community that you could be a part of, we want to focus on reinvigorating the local community that you are a part of.
