COMMUNITY CLIMATE SOLUTIONS

Community Climate Solutions’ mission is to empower communities on climate solutions and build equitable, resilient communities. On average, 40-60% of city emissions come from 4 basic household activities - electricity, home heating fuels, transportation, and waste. The great news is we now have affordable solutions for all of these activities that not only lower household impact, but also save families money - up to $1,000 - $3,000/year, helping low income households with energy burden. These solutions also improve health and create local jobs. According to 2021 Yale research, most Americans (70%) are worried about climate change and want to help, but don’t know what to do. CCS empowers people on climate solutions with innovative, community-based engagement programs. Our platform makes it simple, easy and fun for people to learn about solutions and find resources for taking action. Our outreach program is rooted in a community engagement model where we engage existing communities, like neighbors, schools, service groups or faith communities to participate together, building community resilience. We utilize a software tool and engagement program that makes it simple, easy and fun for residents to learn about the solutions to climate change and what actions they can take to help reduce their impact and contribute towards citywide goals. Some features of the program include: - Software platform (BrightAction.com) that provides residents robust, quality information on climate solutions and actions including local resources, rebates and how to guides. - Custom city branding including local logo, photos and content. - Robust analytics to track emissions and savings at the household level based on local data parameters. - Help households save money. - Social tools that encourages users to connect and work with others in teams and communities.
