For over 30 years, Community Interpreter Services (CIS) has been providing interpreter services and written translation to ensure that persons with limited English proficiency (LEP) are able to access legal, medical, educational and corporate services.
We work with corporations and agencies that have diverse customer bases and employee populations to overcome cultural barriers. We contract with more than 150 trained interpreters and translators, who collectively are fluent in over 80 languages. All of our contracted interpreters complete a CORI background check, sign confidentiality and HIPAA statements, and many have all the immunizations as required by MA Department of Public Health guidelines for Health Care Personnel.
We are members of the American Translators Association, the International Medical Interpreters Association and the Association of Language Companies. We are an authorized vendor under the Massachusetts statewide contract.
