Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough

The Community Foundation brings community builders together to create meaningful and lasting change in the City and County of Peterborough. We work with donors and charitable organizations to invest in the people, ideas and activities that build community vitality. Building sustainable community assets through philanthropy, we take a long-term view of our community, and have the staying power needed to address complex issues. Our Purpose Inspiring giving to build a vital community, for everyone. Our Approach We mobilize knowledge, assets and relationships to improve quality of life in the City and County of Peterborough. By combining and investing gifts of all sizes in a pooled fund, we work with donors to build sustainable community resources that can address the challenges and opportunities facing Peterborough now and in the future. Our Impact With our donors, the Community Foundation has invested over $6 million in charitable projects since making our first grant in 2011. From support for affordable housing, education and care for those in need to the arts, recreation and environment, these investments cover the breadth of our community and add depth to the vitality of the City and County of Peterborough. Our Work The Community Foundation partners with donors to make key investments in community vitality, directing funding to projects that support the long-term wellbeing of the City and County of Peterborough. We work to strengthen the charitable sector by connecting organizations with opportunities for learning, development and collaboration. And we promote community knowledge and dialogue around important needs, opportunities and trends, directing additional energy to priority issues in our community.
