Two providers in Maryland can charge significantly different prices for the same procedure with the same quality of care. Patients typically do not know the cost of a procedure until after they receive the bill. A better, more transparent way to shop for healthcare is clearly needed. Compared Care is a web application that is designed to provide patients with the research tools to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare. It is a user submitted database of health care information including but not limited to procedures, drugs and treatments. It will include a strict review system, which allows the user to conduct research regarding their procedures.
