Compton Wellness Collective

The Social Impact Initiative of VCH Prosperity Consulting ,the, Compton Wellness Collective, provides Mental Health and socio-emotional wellness services with a focus on addressing disparities in mental health care for black and brown individuals in underserved communities, our work undoubtedly aligns with the six guiding principles of trauma-informed care. Trauma-informed care prioritizes creating a safe and supportive environment that recognizes and responds to the impact of trauma on individuals. By providing a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment, we are actively working to "heal the hood" through our work. In order to bolster inclusion, we make an intentional effort to operate from "it takes a village" mentality of community partnerships. By engaging with these grassroots community organizations, it allows us to support the leaders doing the work, as well as understand the specific challenges and needs of the community. This work allows us to develop and deliver tailored programming that addresses specific needs. Our involvement is on the micro level, accessible services, education and outreach. Ensuring that wellness practitioners in the Compton Wellness Collective reflect the diversity of the community, this helps set the tone for equity and inclusion. The Compton Wellness Collective is community-focused and dedicated to providing mental health and socio-emotional wellness services with a particular emphasis on addressing disparities in mental health care, especially for black and brown individuals residing in underserved communities such as Compton. Our organization's current work within the community is geared towards meeting the unique needs of the community and collaborating with local organizations in need of mental health and socio-emotional wellness support for their participants and team member
