About Computational Neurocognitive Laboratory

Computational Neurocognitive Laboratory at biomedical engineering faculty of Sahand university of Technology is directed by Dr. Peyvand Ghaderyan and devoted to interdisciplinary research in the fields of cognitive science, neuroscience, psychology, informatics and biomedical engineering. We particularly focused on the application of bioelectrical engineering principals, advanced biomedical signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning or deep learning techniques to develop cost-effective and non-invasive detection, prediction, or monitoring technology for neurodegenerative or neurocognitive disorders , towards improving the quality of patient’s lives through making empowered choices , and thereby managing time and healthcare costs. Currently most of research is concentrated on : •The elucidation of the link between biomedical signal changes and pathophysiological mechanism of neurocognitive diseases for early detection, prediction, monitoring, or categorization. • Assess the brain processes that underline cognitive ability and impairments through non-invasive behavior experiments and biomedical signals, such as EEG, ECG, electrodermal activity, electromyogram, gait and handwriting signals. • The development of non-invasive and cost-effective biomarkers of neurocognitive disorders using computer-aided biomedical signal analysis approaches, mathematics and artificial intelligence models.
