The computer graphics society (CGS) is an international, professional society whose purpose is to promote advances in computer graphics by exchanging ideas to find innovative solutions. It is an international non-profit-making association, run by volunteers, that is at the service of its members. CGS invites researchers across the whole world to share their passion, experiences and novel achievements in various fields – like computer graphics and human-computer interaction. Currently, two conferences are organized each year by the Computer Graphics Society: * The Computer Graphics International conference (CGI) that was founded in 1983 by Prof. Tosiyasu L. Kunii in Tokyo, Japan * The Computer Animation and Social Agents (CASA) conference, formerly named Computer Animation (CA), that was founded in 1988 by Prof. Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann in Geneva. The CGS also is associated with two publications: * The Visual Computer, Editor-in-Chief: Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann, Published by Springer Verlag. * Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, Co-Editors in Chief: Daniel Thalmann and Nadia Magnenat Thalmann, Published by Wiley
