ComputerWell offers a new perspective on saving drilling costs. We call it COMPUTATIONAL SURVEILLANCE. This involves an ultrafast simulator that predicts the most probable state of the drillstring at any time during an operation. We can investigate downhole stresses, downhole torques, friction forces along the string, stick-slip effects, accurate ROP, accurate WOB and accurate MSE. I believe, this perspective is more in line with our physical intuition and erroneous measurements are handled in a very sophisticated way. Consequently, we can make more informed decisions and save costs by preventing stuck pipes, twist offs, tool failures. inefficient drilling and more.
