The firm was originally organized in 1979 in Manhattan Beach, California as a full-service real estate company primarily specializing in the acquisition and management of passive real estate investments for offshore clients. Over the next several decades, the company successfully developed and leased approximately 5 million square feet of office and retail space throughout California including numerous marquee properties. The firm created a residential housing division in 1994 and, since inception, has acquired, entitled, built and sold 29 residential projects. Currently, the company is in various stages of development on residential projects totaling approximately 1,700 residential units throughout Northern and Southern California. Comstock has proven itself to be one of the few California infill developers with the unique ability to overcome substantial project barriers to create exceptional communities.
