About Concourse Technology

Design and manufacture of lifestyle & mobility equipment including the internationally awarded and patented Smart Wheels. We focus on: • Portability: Compact and light-weight design aimed at making life easier • Compatibility: The ability to integrate with a variety of other products • Clever: Ingenious design elements, sophisticated engineering and the latest in wireless technology to deliver performance excellence These principles make our products some of the most highly versatile, useable and desirable products available. In 2015, following the development of our CBM3 push golf buggy – we set out to deliver a remote-controlled power system to partner it. Logic pointed to a system that had self-propelled wheels that could communicate wirelessly with full remote-control functionality. We quickly discovered that this would be a global first, which meant taking a clean sheet of paper. After the 18 months of R&D we had the first working prototype of the ‘Smart Wheels’ and in November 2016 a global patent was filed. Two things became apparent over this period: 1. We could see why it had never been done before - it was incredibly difficult 2. There had to be a more deserving application than just golf - wheelchairs were the obvious goal In 2019 the Smart Wheels were launched into golf, with the future application of wheelchairs always in mind. Golf has been a brilliant application to prove, test and refine our technology. It was then all about wheelchairs. This meant: a lot more power, the first ever Bluetooth Joystick controller for wheelchairs, a wheelchair compatibility solution, and medical device certification – as a starting point. Smart Wheels today: • Over 30,000 hours of R&D completed • A granted Patent and another filed • Twice awarded the Australian Government’s coveted AC program • Winner of two of the world’s most prestigious design awards A proud Australian company innovating solutions to improve lives globally - with plenty more to come.
