Confident Steps

Providing independent Orientation and Mobility Services to people with low vision and blindness in Melbourne and surrounding areas. I work with the individual to build the skills and confidence to achieve their goals for independent travel. That movement may be learning to get to find their way around their home for a young child, learning your way around kinder, school or another education setting, or learning to cross roads, plan travel routes and catch public transport into the city as a child's independence grows. For adults it can be learning to use a mobility aid and travel in different ways to what they may have in the past and building confidence to do that independently if they have lost vision or learning new and more complex travel routes for those who already have the skills in other environments. Confident steps is also planning to deliver group programs and opportunities to connect with other people with low vision or blindness in fun and accessible ways.
