Connect 4.0 aims to disrupt the market for automotive spare parts with its iprint3Dspares a factory-in-a-box system that removes the need for vehicle dealerships, fleets and service centres to order parts from off-site. The system stores the parts’ designs, and licences them to the end-user who will download the designs for the part and manufacture it on-site using Connect 4.0’s container-based manufacturing system. The process starts at the e-commerce marketplace, which includes a virtual warehouse to store the digital design files. There is an AR (Augmented Reality) app to visualize, select and customize a product, and a digital design files licence management system to manage the right to print the parts purchased by the end-users. Connect 4.0 has been shortlisted for the highly sought after NAA Design and Innovation Award 2019.
