The aim of the Sensation & Perception Research Group is clinical researches centered on disturbed sensorial perceptions as well as modification of normal conscious state. We are working on improving health care by integrating non-pharmacological approaches such as hypnosis, self-induced cognitive trance, virtual reality and music-therapy. These “mind-body” therapies are usually proposed to patients in the clinical practice at the University Hospital of Liege. With these techniques, we aim to empower patients to become active participants in their own treatment to expand awareness and amplify positive experiences. Our main goal is to improve the global quality of life of patients by studying different variables such as sleep difficulties, cognitive disorders, emotional distress, pain, tinnitus, return to work, etc.
