Conservation Heritage - Turambe

Conservation Heritage - Turambe company information, Employees & Contact Information

Established in May 2013, Conservation Heritage-Turambe (CHT) is a local non-governmental organization based in Musanze District, in Northern Province of Rwanda. CHT supports and teaches local community members, mainly schoolchildren, about conservation and health. We discuss issues facing wildlife, especially mountain gorillas, in Volcanoes National Park (VNP) to alleviate the conflict between the wildlife and the community. CHT acknowledges that in order to save wildlife and biodiversity, communities must have their basic needs met. CHT works to advance sustainable livelihoods, increase access to quality healthcare and education, and address urgent environmental challenges through its programs and projects. CHT sees a healthy population coexisting peacefully with a healthy wildlife habitat through empowering people and communities. With an emphasis on community involvement, education, and advocacy, CHT works relentlessly to create sustainable livelihoods, increase community resilience, and promote conservation practices. CHT works to bring long-lasting change and contribute to the sustainable development of Rwanda and the larger global community through collaborations with local stakeholders, governmental entities, and international organizations.
