Container Shipping Co. has been established in 1971 and was registered in Tehran as an international transportation company and a member of Perse international transportation group (PTB), mainly focused to open up the North South Transit Corridor (nowadays known as NOSTRAC) via the Iranian territory.
In this regard CONSHIP established 3 Iranian first privately owned container terminals in Iran located in Djulfa border (northwest of Iran), Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) and in capital city “Tehran” as a front runner in transit of cargo via Iran until 1980. CONSHIP was also the leading transportation company which started the first regular container line, calling Iranian ports. It was a joint venture between CONSHIP and “Jeuro” (Japanese shipping Co.) named "Jeuro Line” running ships between Far East and Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK). This activity stopped after starting war with Iraq and CONSHIP terminal was bombarded by Iraqi' troop.
In 2006 CONSHIP company revived with professional new management team and is now mainly involved in:
investment in different inland and seaport terminals.
Seaport Management & Stevedoring. -Inland Container Depot (ICD) planning, construction and operation management.
