CONSOB

CONSOB is the Italian authority responsible for the regulation and supervision of financial markets. It oversees transparency, fairness and stability within the financial system, protects investors and combats market abuse. Consob works in coordination with other Italian authorities (Bank of Italy, IVASS, COVIP, AGCM) and with European institutions, in particular ESMA, to ensure the consistent application of financial market rules. Established in 1974, Consob is an independent authority with full organizational and financial autonomy. The Commission is composed of five members appointed according to procedures defined by law.
