The Consortium for Customized Employment launched in 2012 as a project of Job Path NYC. Today, we are partnered with 14 not-for-profit organizations and more than 60 New York City businesses to expand employment opportunities for people with autism and other developmental disabilities.
We utilize the Customized Employment method when developing positions for our job seekers. This involves:
1) Networking with businesses to learn about their unmet needs and pain points
2) Discovering the interests, skills, and strengths of our job seekers
3) Matching qualified job seekers with businesses by creating unique positions that address the unmet needs and alleviate the pain points
4) Provide ongoing support and job coaching at no cost to employers
To date, we have developed a network of 62 businesses that are collectively employing nearly 200 adults with developmental disabilities. We are always looking to build new relationships with employers throughout New York, we look forward to connecting with you!
