The Consortium for Safe Communities began meeting in October of 2022 to advocate for improvements to Public Safety legislation in New York State.
Members of the group include crime victims, clergy, business people, community groups, law enforcement, government, medical and legal professionals, and private citizens who refuse to accept the current state of public safety in our community as normal.
The CSC is managed through the Monroe County Sheriff's Office but is NOT a law enforcement entity. We are a collective of people united in purpose, but representing various (and often divergent) perspectives, opinions, and solutions to bettering public safety.
Started in the Greater Rochester-Finger Lakes Region, we continue to expand alongside current initiatives in Erie, Niagara, Onondaga Counties, the Albany-Capital Region, and the Mohawk Valley.
