Consortium RITA – Université McGill

The Consortium RITA was founded in 2017 as an inclusive Quebec collaboration platform that aims to facilitate and support projects that accelerate innovation, technology transfer, and the development of a thriving, sustainable agri-food processing sector based in Quebec. The consortium receives financial support from the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) and takes advantage of key partnerships established with the Quebec Council of Food Processing (CTAQ). The Consortium's ambitious objectives are to: - Unite cooperative resources and passionate expertise in innovation and R&D to accelerate the growth of food self-sufficiency. - Create and expand unique partnerships between agri-food companies and the research community. - Encourage agri-food companies to jointly conduct pre-competitive research activities in Quebec that serve the scientific and technological interests of the sector. -Promote pre-competitive and competitive projects. - Strengthen the competitiveness of companies by intensifying their R&D and technological innovation efforts. - Facilitate the recruitment of qualified people within companies by funding research projects that employ students.
