Construction For Women

Construction for women is a dynamic not-for-profit company, passionately driving change within the construction industry. We’re here to upskill and train women to be an active part of the built environment, to providing invaluable training and resources for those aspiring to thrive in our industry. Construction for Women wishes to bridge the gap in Industry, we are looking to encourage more women into the workplace and we are doing this through quarterly 12 week courses, we are inviting 12 women and guiding them through an introduction to industry pathway course, this course is tailored to what the industry needs in relation to up skilling in multi skills trades with a clear pathway to be able to be site ready at the end of the course, with full provision for CSCS cards provided to enable our candidates to be site ready. Early engagement Girls into construction - talks and taster sessions to school leavers yr 9’s, providing information pertaining to careers and apprenticeships within industry. These sessions can be organised with a maximum of 90 girls at any one time and have been a fantastic successes thus far. The day is mix of introduction into the build environment with tasters sessions in interior design, brick laying, plumbing and carpentry. The engagement from theses sessions is inspiring and the feedback from the girls is that before the day they hadn’t considered that there was a place for them in the Constrcution Industry, planting seeding early on is key to Building a community of members with a notice board of career opportunities and opportunity’s to further advice there career with training days provided and bi monthly networking events. The unique element to this training program is the 1 yr mentor allocated to each individual o nan court and also the additional CTB training, enabling retention and career progression.
