Consulate General of Ireland, Lyon – Consulat Général d’Irlande à Lyon

The Consulate General of Ireland in Lyon opened in September 2022. Its role is to expand and deepen bilateral relations between Ireland and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne Franche-Comté regions, in order to generate economic growth and jobs, maintain and strengthen links with our Irish diaspora, and promote Ireland, its arts, language and culture. The Consulate was opened as part of the "Global Ireland" policy and reflects the close relationship that has long existed between France and Ireland. Ireland committed to the opening of this Consulate in the Joint Plan of Action between Ireland and France, signed during President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Ireland in 2021. The Consulate General of Ireland, under the leadership of Consul General Ciara de Mora, works closely with the Irish state agencies: Enterprise Ireland; Tourism Ireland; Bord Bia; and IDA to promote trade, tourism and foreign investment. The Consulate in Lyon, the Embassy in Paris and the Honorary Consuls in Cherbourg, Roscoff, Toulouse and Cannes provide consular assistance to Irish citizens in France.
