ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade CJSC (Armenia)

In July 2015, ContourGlobal acquired the Vorotan Hydro Cascade, which is owned and operated by ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade CJSC. It is located 240 km southeast of Yerevan, in Armenia’s Syunik region and extends 178 km along the Vorotan river. The Vorotan hydro cascade is among the main power generation complexes in Armenia, providing both peak and base load generation, and performing grid stabilization services. With an overall installed capacity of 404.2 MW and an annual designed power generation of 1.15 billion kWh it consists of three hydropower plants (HPPs) and four reservoirs (Spandaryan, Angeghakot, Tolors and Shamb) and Tatev daily regulation pond. -76MW Spandaryan HPP commissioned in 1989. -171MW Shamb HPP commissioned in 1978. -157.2MW Tatev HPP commissioned in 1970.
