Cooper Container Corporation was founded in 1989 by A.C. Cooper. What started as a small sheet plant in a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse evolved into one of the best sheet plants in the Southeast. In late 1998, Mr. Cooper purchased Cooper Container II in Lexington, Tennessee. Cooper Container II grew to occupy 60,000 sq. ft. with state of the art new equipment.
In early 2018, Cooper Container II was acquired by Welch Packaging. Scott Welch, who also places customer relationships above all else, jumped at the opportunity to work with like-minded people. The merger has expanded the product lines of both companies while allowing each to maintain their own local customers and relationships.
