About COPE: The Coalition on Physician Education in Substance Use Disorders
As a partner organization in the Opioid Response Network, The Coalition on Physician Education in Substance Use Disorders (COPE) is a voluntary organization devoted to improving patient care and the public health by assuring that all rising physicians are trained to prevent, identify, and provide specialty appropriate interventions for patients who use tobacco or unauthorized drugs, or who engage in unhealthy use of alcohol or non-medical use of prescription medications. Funding for this initiative was made possible (in part) by grant no. 1H79TI085588-01 from SAMHSA.
