Phase 1 Investigations
Desk based studies to assess potential geotechnical, geological and geoenvironmental problems and liabilities. Sources include geological and historical plans and geological and environmental databases.
Phase 2 Investigations
The design and costing of intrusive investigations; supervision of fieldwork and preparation of reports. The wide ranging resources available to the Company enable the most appropriate investigatory technique to be provided. The close working relationship between suppliers, including UKAS and MCerts certified laboratories ensures that contracts are managed to budget and programme.
Investigation into Causes of Ground Movement
Investigations carried out on behalf of insurance companies into the causes of foundation movement, such as leakage of drains and desiccation. Stability of soil and rock slopes and ground subjected to mineral abstraction. Design of remedial measures such as underpinning, grouting or slope stabilisation by construction of walls, drainage, soil nailing etc.
Advice, Supervision and Validation of Construction and Remedial Works
The design of works and preparation of Specification and Tender documents. Design checking of retaining walls etc. Geoenvironmental audits, assessment of liabilities associated with contaminated land, design of remediation strategies and validation testing.
