CORE - CAGD AND OPTIMIZATION RESEARCH

CORE The CORE Lab is part of a research group in the Center of Informatics at the Federal University of Pernambuco focused on proposing solutions on geometric modeling and optimization. More specifically, the group works in the interface of the academia and the market to establish the applicability of methods and techniques of Computer Aided Geometric Design, Additive Manufacturing, Logistic, Optimization, Computer Graphics and Vision. Although the group was established in 2015, having since submitted four patents in Additive Manufacturing, the Lab started in its own physical facilities in 2018. The personnel includes five doctors, all with previous experience in research project development and some with extensive academic publication, four graduate students and four undergraduate students. The group has since developed a systematic form of acting in the face of challenges that invoke the development of models and computational solutions right from academia to the real applications, that has generated high added value products for the industry. The strength of it modus operandi is in part due to its articulation of real world problems with theses and dissertations production, and its versatility in personnel hiring directly from universities.
