Core Temperature Controls was founded in 2010 by John Sims and John Cisney, as a startup company that developed a "first of its kind" personal heating and cooling system designed for a variety of users - from power-sports enthusiasts, athletes and scuba divers, to law enforcement, military and medical personnel. CTC and our products are part of an emerging industry that currently does not have any competition. While there is a market offering personal warming devices or personal cooling devices, there is no other system capable of providing the user with both heating and cooling at the touch of a button offering both safety and comfort. The use of one of the CTC units is not limited to recreational or proactive treatments; it is a multifunctional system that can actually help save lives.
"The vision is clear and the future is ours to live comfortably and live well", said Anthony Blackburn during his first meeting as President and Chief Marketing Officer of Core Temperature Controls after joining the team in November of 2013.
Originally referred to Cor-Tem-Con, the brand has evolved to include more meaning related to the systems and how they provide cooling and warming.
"I'm an inventor and not a marketing guru", said John Sims, Chief Executive Officer and inventor of the CTC line of products, "so bringing Blackburn on board was an easy decision."
Cor-Tem-Con was retired in December of 2013 reverting back to the original name of Core Temperature Controls. The brand was then changed to a more marketable name that could be trademarked which reflected the core of the systems - water. Anthony Blackburn envisioned a new name that related to or from water and Aquatical® was born.
