Cork Stroke Support is a registered charity (CHY 20796) set up in 2010 to address the information, exercise & support needs of stroke survivors and families post discharge from hospital. It is run by volunteers (health professionals and those affected by stroke) and has received awards for its commitment to the needs of stroke survivors and families. It provides a telephone information and support advisory service, individual assessment & stroke support group activities.
The Cork Stroke Support Centre opened in April 2021 and offers information workshops, psychological support and counselling, physiotherapy led exercise sessions and a range of health promotion, enabling activities with emphasis on enjoyment and independence.
CSS is supported by lottery funding, grant aid, and fundraising. Donations welcome.
