The College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) is a non-profit professional body that fosters postgraduate education in surgery and provides surgical training in the East, Central and Southern Africa region.
COSECSA shapes and leads the training, examination and accreditation of surgeons in the East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA) region.
COSECSA has developed a decentralised surgical training programme with a common exam and an internationally recognised surgical qualification at Membership and Fellowship levels. Trainees undertake the COSECSA programme in accredited hospitals, complete academic requirements online and attend occasional national/regional workshops.
COSECSA's Mission is to promote Excellence in Surgical Care, Training and Research.
