The Costa Coffee story began back in 1971 when Sergio and Bruno arrived in London with a burning desire to make great tasting coffee a part of everyday life. Setting up a small roastery in Newport Street, they committed to crafting the finest quality coffee. It was here the Costa brothers blind-tested 112 variations of coffee before they tasted one good enough to be our signature blend. They named it ‘Mocha Italia’ and it remains our signature blend to this day. It goes without saying that we roast all of our coffee beans in-house - and specifically at a brand new €42 million roastery in Essex in the UK. It's where 45,000 tons of coffee beans get roasted every year! --- Costa Coffee in Malta Costa made its debut in Malta in 2012 at the Malta International Airport. Since then, the company has expanded across the island, opening several locations in both the South and North, as well as on the sister island of Gozo. Today, Costa Coffee Malta operates a total of 15 stores. Costa Malta forms part of the Corinthia Group of companies and as of today, proudly employs over 150 employees.
