The Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marlan Carlson, OSU Endowed Chair for University Orchestras, is a highly-regarded, 110-member ensemble performing five major concerts each season plus an annual children's concert. High-profile soloists from around the world complement the musical artistry of students, faculty, and some professional musicians from Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Corvallis. Choral music conducted by Steven Zielke, OSU Director of Choral Studies, is a treasured part of the holiday season. The Symphony is part of a talented and creative community at the Oregon State University College of Liberal Arts that challenges students to develop the skills to become successful musicians and professional educators. The Symphony also attracts many students in who excel in engineering and sciences and wish to pursue their passion for classical music while conducting research with OSU's renowned scientists. Concerts are performed in the LaSells Stewart Center Austin Auditorium on the Oregon State University Campus. Ample free parking is available. Wheelchair access is available on the main floor of the auditorium.
