A história da Cotrijuc – Cooperativa Agropecuária Júlio de Castilhos começou a ser escrita em 12 de março de 1950, devido a necessidade de organização para encontrar mecanismos para suprir as dificuldades de beneficiamento, logística e comercialização das safras de trigo. Assim, 24 produtores rurais viram no cooperativismo a alternativa para comercialização conjunta dos seus produtos.
