Hello, I'm Sam Garanzini. Alongside my husband, Alapaki Yee, I co-founded the Couples Therapy Training Academy. Since 2009, we've trained over 1,000 clinicians, blending clinical excellence with robust business strategies to foster expert counseling practices.
Our work includes the first outcome study of the Gottman Method for gay and lesbian couples, published in 2017 with Drs. John and Julie Gottman, which validated its efficacy.
Starting my private practice in 2005 was a humble journey. My initial marketing efforts involved printing three different high-gloss brochures and tracking which ones were picked up at a local medical clinic. I come from a family of restaurant owners, but I had no idea what I was doing. Yet, this modest start eventually secured a client who brought in over $3,000 in revenue and numerous referrals over the years. This was a light-bulb moment.
Realizing the need for better marketing strategies, I became certified in two innovative marketing methods, developed a proprietary funnel software tailored for therapists to get better self-pay clients from ads, and created the "Small Practice, Big Profit Program." This program equips clinicians with a straightforward system to attract quality self-pay clients and manage multiple service offers effectively, both direct care, but also passive income and high ticket intensives.
