Cowrie Shell Archives was birthed through the effort of capturing the essence of Black people through amplifying their stories and experiences, from their own mouths to the archive. That’s why our mission at Cowrie Shell Archives is to ‘preserve Black stories both modern and historical’, we want to spread the message of the importance of archiving and knowing your identity. Cowrie Shell Archives is for creatives, artists, historians, go getters, change makers, and those that are just trying to make the most of every day given to them, but more specifically, Cowrie Shell Archives is for Black People.
