In September 2009, Cox Media Group, Inc. announced the formation of a new unit (http://www.linkedin.com/company/cox-media-group-digital-&-strategy-team) which transformed the separate digital business groups (including Cox Radio Interactive, or CXRi) into a more focused, efficient and unified platform supporting all Cox Media Group newspaper, radio and TV businesses. Previous to that, CXRi was an Atlanta-based division of Cox Radio, Inc. that focused on its new media opportunities and managed its Internet assets. Cox Radio, Inc., a radio broadcasting company, engaged in the ownership, acquisition, and operation of radio stations in the United States. As of December 31, 2006, the company owned/operated/provided sales and other services to 80 radio stations, including 67 FM and 13 AM stations. The company was founded in 1934 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Cox Radio, Inc. is a subsidiary of Cox Broadcasting, Inc.
