Designer and manufacturer of cold weather apparel and gear. Organizer of ski-mountaineering adventures. Cozy Layers was born out of neccessity while climbing Aconcagua (highest mtn outside Asia). Almost getting frostbitten, dehydrated and low sugar founder Swamy Karnam decided that the best way to keep water fluid and food edible was to have them stored in pockets on the chest and have access passages through all layers -- outer shell, down jacket, fleece jacket. This concept was tested on Denali in June of 2012 and a contract was signed with Werx Designs (the designers of Eddie Bauer's ascent series) to created a marketable product. Currently the company is in a startup phase. A second set of prototypes were designed which will be tested by Diego who starts a 2650 mile backpacking from from Mexico to Canada on April 18th 2013. We will also be launching our products on KickStarter around this date. The company was incorporated on April 19th of 2012 so this test will mark 1 year of vision, design/redesign, test. Swamy will be testing another set of prototypes in Krygzstan on 7000m+ peaks in July and August of this year. We plan to refine the designs further and deliver our first round of products to our KickStarter supporters by the Winter of 2013/2014 season. We plan to offer the products to the general public on April 19th 2014 after 2 years of design, testing, refine, develop, test cycles.
