Portuguese Refugee Council

The Portuguese Refugee Council (CPR) is a non profit, non-governmental organization for development that, since 1991, has had as a mission to defend and promote the Right to Asylum in Portugal. CPR is an organisation with a consolidated work having, over the last 33 years, provided support to thousands of applicants of international protection (spontaneous, relocated, from humanitarian rescues in the Mediterranean Sea or as part of humanitarian evacuation programmes) and beneficiaries of international protection, including resettled refugees – men, women, children and unaccompanied children of different nationalities, religious practices, ethnicities and with different aspirations and needs. CPR also works with local communities to promote humane and sustainable asylum policies and to raise awareness and inform about international protection and human rights.
